The story of the Traveling Cabin
In the 1800's, J. L. Kennedy built a log cabin
for his servant. In 1921 his estate gave the
cabin to the Girl Scouts for their
Camp of the Hills, in Stone Park, Sioux City.
The cabin was used as an office, lodge and
headquarters for the camp.
In 1982 the cabin was moved again
to Camp Joy Hollow.
In 2004 the cabin moved yet again,
to the Plymouth County Fairgrounds,
where is stands today.
This 1800's era cabin is seen in the
background of the 1955 Staff photo shown top.
