1963 Cookie Charm

In 1999, GSUSA came out with a
pin for official wear. For 3 years, this pin was
plastic, color coded for each year;
1999 - blue, 2000 - yellow,
2001 - orange.
In 2002 a new, metal pin was
offered in evergreen, for 2003 it was red, 2004 purple, 2005 turquoise, 2006
black, 2007 white, 2008 is cobalt blue
Licensed producers of cookies have
often used incentives, such as charms, buttons and other items, to promote
the annual cookie sale. Councils have also been known to produce incentives,
especially the larger, well-funded councils. These incentives as well as
vintage cookie boxes and tins are now sought after by collectors.
This sequence of charms from 1961 through 1969, from Chicago Girl Scouts are likely all cookie incentives. I have emailed the GSC of Chicago to verify.
I suspect this is a cookie pin from the mid - 80s
